At West High School, I teach computer programming
(Visual Basic and C++). The students who take computer programming are going on to
college and considering engineering or computers as a career. Due to
interest, my course enrollment rises. In addition, we are
initiating a new course in 2005 which include Advance Visual Basic and
Java. Student comment -- "You are
the best. I learn so much and laugh at the same time." I also teach the beginning Word Processing. I change my pattern of instruction to fit the group or
person. Student comments -- "You are an outstanding teacher. I will
always remember you. I always understood what to do!" |

I have served as a professional trainer for two
corporations. Alcoa Aluminum utilized Wilson Learning for supervisor
training. During the summer, I became certified as a Wilson Trainer
and completed the training for Alcoa on "Listen Skills". Due the success of the
Alcoa project, Lee Enterprises hired me to train their management team. I
completed the twelve Lee Enterprise Management sessions in Davenport,
Iowa. Due to the outstanding evaluations, I was hired to continue
the training for management in Madison, Wisconsin.
Sherrard High School hired me to serve as an instructor and initiate a
new curriculum in computers for their Junior High. I have extensive background in creating
curriculum or lessons. Every school district has a format they use. Successful learning has to be "hand on",
meaningful, and allow for different learning styles.. |
